What we promise, and what we ask

Draft, to be checked by a solicitor before launch. This is the plain-English version the product is built around. Anything marked [__] is not yet known.

These are the terms you agree to when you use Say a Few Words. We’ve kept them short enough to read.

Who we are

Say a Few Words is a trading name of Datrics Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 12581068. You can reach us at hello@sayafewwords.co.uk.

What’s free

The conversation about them, and the opening of their eulogy. If the opening doesn’t sound like them, you can add a detail and we’ll write it again, free. You don’t need a card, and you’re under no obligation to buy anything.

What you get if you pay

• The full eulogy, in your voice, for 3, 5 or 7 minutes.
• Two rounds of changes. A round is used when we rewrite it for you. Answering our questions, or adding family memories, never uses one.
• Your family’s memories, added the way you choose. This is free and doesn’t use up a round.
• A large-print reading copy with the pauses marked.
• Copies to keep, as a PDF and a Word document.

The price

£39, paid once. There is no subscription and nothing else to buy. Payment is taken by our payment provider; your card details never reach us.

Refunds

If it isn’t right, email hello@sayafewwords.co.uk within 14 days of paying and we’ll refund you in full. You don’t need to give a reason. This is on top of any rights the law gives you.

How your eulogy is written

Your eulogy is drafted by AI, working only from what you tell us. It is told never to invent a name, a story or a fact, and a second check reads every draft against your answers. Both the draft and the check are done by software, not by a person.

AI can still make mistakes. Please check every name, date and detail before you read it aloud or print it. The final word is yours, and so is the decision to use it.

What we ask of you

• Tell us things that are true, and that you’re happy to have in a eulogy.
• If you ask family or friends for a memory, only give us the email addresses of people who’d be glad to be asked.
• Keep the six-digit codes we email you to yourself. Your link only opens the eulogy on a device where you’ve signed in with one; to let someone else read it, print it or send them a copy.

Whose words they are

Yours. What you tell us stays yours, and so does the eulogy: read it, print it, change it and share it as you like. We use your words to write your eulogy and for nothing else. They are not used to train AI.

Deletion

Everything you’ve told us is deleted 30 days after your last visit, or 30 days after the funeral date you gave us if that is later. You can delete it sooner from your private link, or by emailing us. It is removed from our systems straight away, and from our backups within 35 days. We cannot restore it for you. So keep your own copy of the eulogy. The detail is in our privacy notice.

If something goes wrong

If the service fails you, tell us and we’ll put it right or refund you. We can’t promise the site will be there every minute of every day, so once you have your eulogy, keep a copy of it. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have by law as a consumer.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we change them, the version that applies to you is the one shown here on the day you paid.
